The impudence of the Cuban regime has no limits: Given the urgent need to show the world a facade of democracy, they have decided to create their own constitution for the Republic of Cuba.
They shout right and left that the Cuban people have a preponderant role in the construction of this new constitution and yet, the more than one million Cubans who love our country and live in exile, we will have no say in what they want. be the new supreme law of our country. But even more: the millions of Cubans who live inside the island and who are not part of the communist apparatus, will not have access to determine what the new constitution will dictate for the already battered country.
On August 11 the Granma newspaper mentions that it was on May 20, 2002, when President George W. Bush, during a meeting in Miami, "insolently" demanded that Cuba renounce the socialist character of its revolution in a new constitution. And that "Cuba's response was historic: a plebiscite that took place over a period of seven days from June 10 to 17, 2002!"
I do not remember that I was cited as a Cuban citizen to participate in that plebiscite. Adding to this that the aforementioned plebiscite occurred (if it happened) approximately 16 years ago. I think as a free Cuban, that a new plebiscite should be held before any other constitution is formed. In this plebiscite we should ALL decide if we want a single party directing the destiny of our country or if we want to have a variety of them with freedom of thought and expression for a true democracy.
Ah! Communist villains! You no longer fool anyone. Bored is the planet to see your shows one after another, after another, after another ....
Changing an obsolete constitution to a communist constitution is simply taking as much step back as possible. You can not have a constitution that has been manufactured exclusively by a totalitarian regime in a country that calls itself "democratic". The people have not participated in the construction of this constitution. There has been no vote without intimidation or coercion. Only the deer of the feudal lord have voted and those are NOT THE PEOPLE OF CUBA.
Spend your saliva and smudged papers: this constitution is not that of the Cubans!
